Desk. A new threat of sudden flood has arisen due to massive landslide in Darchula district of Nepal. Nepal is already struggling with the impact of the flood disaster that occurred on August 26. So far, more than 1,300 people have died in this accident and about 5,000 people are missing. The flow of Chaulani river near the fresh landslide has partially stopped, due to which officials have asked people living in the downstream areas of the river to be on high alert.

Let us inform that on Friday, a landslide occurred in Bhattar area of ​​AP Himal Rural Municipality, due to which a huge amount of debris fell into the river and the flow of the river was disrupted. Darchula District Administration Office has warned that further landslides could cause complete blockage of the river, leading to the risk of the river dam breaking and flash flooding in low-lying areas. Officials have appealed to the people living on the banks of the river to be alert and take necessary precautions. Security personnel have been deployed to alert residents and be ready to respond in case of emergency.

Sudurpaschim Chief Minister Khagraj Bhatt has directed local officials and security agencies to remain on high alert and be prepared for any emergency. Emergency contact numbers have also been issued for help in flood and disaster. Armed Police Force said that the river is currently flowing at normal level. However, personnel from Nepal Chamelia Hydropower Security Base have been deployed in Balanch to keep an eye on the situation and warn nearby people if necessary.
