Bhopal. The intensity of rain in Madhya Pradesh has now shifted from the east to the northern part. The weather is likely to be more active in the next two days in Sagar and Ujjain divisions including Gwalior-Chambal.
Orange alert of extremely heavy rain has been issued in Sheopur and Shivpuri on Saturday, while there is a warning of heavy rain in 17 other districts. Due to continuous rain, there has been a change in the rainfall figures of the state.
For the first time in the season, 3 percent more rainfall than normal has been recorded in Jabalpur, Rewa, Sagar and Shahdol divisions of Eastern Madhya Pradesh. A total of 762.7 mm or about 30 inches of water has rained in the state so far, which is 2.1 inches less than the normal rainfall of 816 mm or 32.1 inches.

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be very heavy rain in Sheopur and Shivpuri on Saturday. Apart from these, Gwalior, Morena.
Heavy rain is expected in Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Sagar, Guna, Ashoknagar, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa and Mandsaur.

There is also a possibility of rain in Chhindwara, Seoni, Narsinghpur, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Pandhurna, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Mauganj, Maihar, Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur and Damoh. In these areas, there may be heavy rain at some places and light rain at other places.
Schools closed in 7 districts due to flood like conditions
Life has been affected in many districts due to rain. In view of this, it has been decided to keep schools closed in seven districts on 5th September. All schools and Anganwadi centers will remain closed in Morena.
Schools from nursery to 12th have been closed in Sheopur and Guna. Anganwadi centers along with all educational institutions will remain closed in Shivpuri.
There will be holiday for students from nursery to 8th in Bhind and Gwalior, while all government and private schools will remain closed in Raisen.
Effect of system till 6th September
According to meteorologists, the activity of the rain system may continue till September 6. After this, heavy rains may be seen in some parts of the state on 7th and 8th September also. However, there is less possibility of heavy rain in Indore during this period.
Rainfall figures improved in the eastern part
Overall the state has received 7 percent less rainfall than normal. In the western part this decrease is 15 percent. In contrast, the figure in the eastern part has now reached 3 percent above normal.
Balaghat, Chhindwara, Damoh, Jabalpur, Katni, Narsinghpur, Pandhurna, Rewa, Sagar and Seoni are still deficient in rainfall by 4 percent to 23 percent.
However, due to continuous rain in the last one week, the situation has improved significantly. During this period, flood like situations have also arisen in many districts of the eastern part.
The situation is opposite in the western part. Agar-Malwa, Alirajpur, Ashoknagar, Betul, Dewas, Dhar, Harda, Indore, Jhabua, Khandwa, Mandsaur, Morena, Narmadapuram, Neemuch, Barwani, Raisen, Ratlam, Sehore, Shajapur, Ujjain and Vidisha have received 5 percent to 54 percent less rainfall than normal.
At the same time, more than normal rainfall has been recorded so far in Anuppur, Chhatarpur, Dindauri, Maihar, Mandla, Mauganj, Niwari, Panna, Satna, Shahdol, Sidhi, Singrauli, Tikamgarh, Umaria, Bhind, Bhopal, Burhanpur, Datia, Guna, Gwalior, Khargone, Rajgarh, Sheopur and Shivpuri.
