JSW will officially enter the Indian automotive segment as an independent brand this year. As part of this new venture, JSW is working alongside Chinese car manufacturer Chery to bring new and interesting models to our market. The official launch of the JSW brand is expected to happen around the festive season this year, and over the next 12 months, JSW aims to launch not one but four new-energy vehicles in the market. Here we have a list of four such new-energy vehicles from JSW that are expected to be launched in India soon.

Chery, in partnership with JSW, will be launching the Jetour T2 SUV in India. While JSW will officially launch its brand in India this year, its first product is likely to hit the market sometime next year. It gets a boxy SUV design inspired by the likes of the Defender. The exterior is designed to look like a rugged off-roader, while the cabin looks premium.

It comes with a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will have minimal physical buttons, with controls for the AC, panoramic sunroof, and ORVMs integrated into the touchscreen. It will also come with a wireless phone charger, Level 2 ADAS, multiple terrain and drive modes, and more.

The Jetour T2 will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. As this is a plug-in hybrid vehicle, the 1.5-litre engine is paired with a 26.7 kWh battery pack. It is available in both 2WD and AWD versions internationally, and the SUV is expected to offer a driving range of around 100 km in pure EV mode. The JSW Jetour T2 will be sold as a CKD and assembled at the company’s plant in Maharashtra.

After the Jetour T2, JSW will bring in a pure electric SUV, which is currently known as the iCar V23 in many markets. It is a rugged-looking SUV with design elements inspired by the likes of the Defender, Jeep Wrangler, and many other SUVs. It might be one of the most affordable products from the JSW Group.

It comes with a decent number of features, including a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, and a minimalist cabin design with exposed plastic panels in some areas.

It is available with two battery pack options. The smaller 59.93 kWh battery comes with a rear-wheel-drive setup and offers around 401 km of range. Meanwhile, the larger 81.76 kWh battery comes paired with an all-wheel-drive system and offers up to 510 km of range.

The third SUV that JSW will launch in the market is a premium mid-size EV, the Jaecoo J5. Like the other two models, it takes inspiration from Range Rover models and comes with a clean and premium-looking exterior design.

As this is a premium EV, it comes with features such as a vertically oriented touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a 540-degree camera system, ventilated seats, electrically adjustable seats with a memory function, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, multi-zone climate control, and more. It will be powered by a 58.9 to 60.9 kWh battery and offer a claimed range of around 400 to 460 km. This EV will generate around 211 bhp and 288 Nm of torque.

Fulwin is another new-energy vehicle brand under Chery. The company has also filed a design patent for its X3L mid-size SUV in India. The SUV looks like a smaller version of the Jetour T2 or Land Rover Defender but has several distinctive styling elements of its own.

The Fulwin X3L gets a rugged exterior design with sleek LED headlamps and DRLs, flared wheel arches, a boxy silhouette, and more. The X3L is offered internationally only as a range-extender hybrid. It comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 33.7 kWh battery pack. The SUV is available in both 2WD and AWD configurations and generates a maximum output of 422 bhp and 505 Nm of torque.
