New Delhi: A new AI feature may soon be seen for WhatsApp users. According to reports, this messaging platform owned by Meta is working on such a feature, through which users will be able to interact with third-party AI Agents inside WhatsApp itself. This means that the need to open separate AI apps or websites may be reduced.

New Agents section will be available in Settings

According to the report of WhatsApp's feature tracker WABetaInfo, hints to this feature have been found in Android's beta version 2.26.35.3. Under this, a new Agents section can be added in WhatsApp Settings.

With the help of this section, users will be able to add and manage AI services that will be ready to work with WhatsApp. While adding an AI Agent, you can also get the option to set its name and profile photo.

5 AI Agents will be connected to one WhatsApp account

The report claims that a maximum of five AI Agents can be added to one account. Users will be able to use different agents according to their needs.

AI Agent may require an API Key to connect to WhatsApp. After the setup is complete, WhatsApp will generate a key, which can be entered into the respective AI service to create a connection between the two platforms.

Separate chat for each AI Agent

The special thing about this feature may be that a separate chat will appear for each connected AI Agent in WhatsApp. Users will be able to use AI services directly from the chat window.

According to the report, these agents will not get access to other private chats, contacts or media of the user. Removing an agent later can also be easy from Settings.

The feature is still in testing

Currently, this feature is said to be in the testing stage and WhatsApp has not announced any official date for its launch. If it is rolled out on a larger scale, it could make it easier for users to use many external AI services within WhatsApp.
