Whenever star summer signing Antoine Griezmann gets on the scoresheet, Orlando City pick up points.

It is a pattern Lions supporters will be delighted to keep seeing.

Saturday's 1-0 victory over San Diego SC at Inter.co Stadium kept that sequence going.

Griezmann struck the match-winning goal as Orlando stretched their unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions (4W-0L-1D) whenever the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has found the net.

He combined once more with homegrown player Justin Ellis for the decisive moment in the 28th minute, and that emerging attacking understanding is becoming increasingly important, with the 19-year-old now assisting three of Griezmann's five goals this season.

"Every single time I pass him the ball, I have a feeling like he can do something," Ellis said after the match. "So that's why I'm always looking for him, and it was a nice finish.

"With Grizi, it's pretty easy, you know?"

The growing chemistry between the two is also giving Orlando fans a bit more entertainment to enjoy.

After already dipping into Griezmann's famous catalogue of goal celebrations, their next successful link-up could bring a brand-new one.

"He always asks me this every week," Ellis said. "… Against San Jose, we did the Hotline Bling. Last game, we did take the L, and then this one was the One Piece.

"I think those are his three signatures. So, now we have to come up with another one. It's fun. It's good to have fun with the celebrations as long as we keep on scoring."

With Saturday's win lifting them to eighth in the Eastern Conference, Orlando City are now on a three-match unbeaten run and are starting to look like a strong bet to secure an Audi MLS Cup Playoffs place.

That marks a significant change from where they stood in 12th place before Griezmann arrived in Orlando.

Next, the Lions head up I-75 for a midweek meeting with regional rivals Atlanta United (7:30 pm ET | Apple TV).
