New Delhi. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met and talked to the students injured during the protest in Bihar. The students told him that he was hit by bullets during the protest and even then he was not immediately taken to the hospital. A student's leg was broken by a bullet and he had to undergo surgery and have a rod inserted. The student told Rahul that his dream was to join the army and serve the country, but after the injury he feels that now he will not be able to fulfill this dream. Rahul Gandhi talked in detail about his injury, family and future.

After all, how did the students get shot during the protest?
While talking to Rahul Gandhi, the injured students told that they had gone to Siwan for study work and were also part of the demonstration. A student said he was trying to get out of there with his friends. According to him, lathi charge was being used by the administration and the situation was tense. He had just turned back when he was shot. After being shot, his leg immediately fell due to shock and he was unable to stand. The student told that the sound of firing was heard several times, but he was hit by one bullet. Another student said that he was also shot and injured.
What happened after being shot and being taken to the hospital?
The injured student told Rahul Gandhi that a lot of blood was coming out after being shot. Despite this he was not immediately taken to the hospital. According to the student, he was taken to the hospital after about 30 to 40 minutes. He claimed that even after being shot, the administration people were beating him with sticks. He told that he was continuously asking to be taken to the hospital, but his words were not listened to. The student also said that he asked for water, but was not given water. According to him, he was taken to the police station and even there no immediate treatment was provided.

How did a bullet hit in the leg change a student's dream?
Rahul Gandhi asked the injured student what operation was done after he was shot in his leg. The student told that he underwent surgery at Medanta Hospital in Patna and a rod was fitted in his leg. He told that the bullet had broken his bone and he is still not in a position to put his leg down. The student said that the pain is very severe and his leg also remains numb. During the conversation, Rahul Gandhi asked him if he could still join the army. The student replied that this would not be possible now. She said that her dream was to serve the country and go to the border and work for the country.
Did Rahul Gandhi also know about the family's problems?
During the conversation, Rahul Gandhi also asked the students about their family and financial condition. The injured student told that his father works as a laborer and his health is unwell. His mother's health also remains bad. He has a younger brother and the family hoped that he would pursue studies and get a job. The student told that the financial situation is already bad and due to the injury the problems have increased further. Another student told that his father had passed away in his childhood. His mother stays at home and he works with his elder brother to run the family. He told that he works in a clothing store. Another student said that along with working outside, he also studies.
What did the students say about the police action?
Rahul Gandhi asked the students if they were posing any kind of threat to the police. The students said they were protesting and did not have any weapons. An injured student said that even after being shot, he had fallen on the ground and his friend was trying to lift him. According to him, after this the administration people reached there and started beating him with sticks. The student claimed that other people present nearby and people passing by were also assaulted. The students also said that they were released after being shot instead of being taken to the hospital.

Whose orders were the policemen?
During the conversation, Rahul Gandhi asked the students who was ordering the police action and whether any officer was present there. The students said that they had no information about this. A student told that four-five policemen were there. Rahul also asked the students whether the policemen were scared or angry at that time. The student replied that the policemen were very angry. The injured students said that they were demanding help after being shot, but they were not listened to.
What sin had these children committed that they were shot?
After meeting the injured students, Rahul Gandhi also shared his reaction on X. He wrote, Imagine, what sin had these children committed that they were shot? Rahul said that these students had asked for only three things from the government – education, employment and accountability. He said that the leg bone of a student was broken by an AK-47 bullet and his dream of joining the army and serving the country was also shattered with it. Rahul said that the shoulders of two other students were also hit by bullets. According to him, these were not criminals, but children from poor families, who had set out to study with the dreams of their families.
Which question did Rahul ask the government?
In his post, Rahul Gandhi questioned the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister and said that the broken bones of the students will be healed, but can their broken dreams be brought back. He also raised the question that the bullet wounds would heal, but who would cure the fear that resided within those children. According to Rahul, some students wanted a good job, while some wanted to change the financial condition of their family. He said that the damage caused to the dreams and future of these students should be answered.

During the conversation, Rahul Gandhi advised the injured student to get himself treated first. He said that first he should be completely cured and if necessary, he should be examined by a doctor. When the student said that now he would not be able to go into the defense sector, Rahul told him not to be disappointed. He said that a way can be found somewhere. Rahul told the student not to panic and to have faith. They also said that they will try their best to help her so that her dream can be fulfilled in some way or the other.
