A controversy broke out over the treatment of the injured Govinda team in a private hospital in Palghar, Maharashtra. On the complaint of the hospital administration, the police have registered a case against 17 people including Shiv Sena's Palghar district chief Kundan Sankhe, MLA Rajendra Gavit's son Rohit Gavit and city chief Rahul Gharat. The hospital alleges that during the dispute over treatment, doctors and staff were abused, a staff member was slapped and threats were made to vandalize the hospital.

The matter pertains to Relief Hospital of Palghar. According to the complaint, some people had reached the hospital for the treatment of a member of Govinda's team who was injured during the Dahi Handi program. He questioned the need for CT scan of the patient and demanded his discharge. There is an allegation of increasing controversy regarding this matter.

Five Govindas were injured in Dahi Handi.

Five members of Govinda's team were injured while making a human pyramid during the Dahi Handi program on Saturday. Everyone was admitted to Relief Hospital for treatment. One of them, Govinda, was injured in his head and spinal cord. Considering his condition, doctors advised CT scan and further treatment.

According to the hospital administration, the cost of the patient's treatment was said to be around Rs 20 thousand. The complaint states that the organizers had deposited Rs 10,000 in the hospital. After this, debate started regarding discharging the patient and the need for CT scan. It is alleged that during this time some Shiv Sena officials reached the hospital and the dispute escalated.

The hospital also alleged that some people from the group entered the ICU and asked the patients present there to go out. This raised concerns about the safety of other patients admitted in the hospital. According to the hospital administration, the entire incident has been recorded in CCTV cameras and the footage has been handed over to the police.

Case under many sections including BNS

Police have registered a case against 17 accused under various sections of the Indian Judicial Code (BNS). These include sections to causing hurt, insult, criminal intimidation, illegal entry and unlawful assembly. Apart from this, action has also been taken under the Maharashtra Medicare Service-Persons and Medicare Service Institutions Act, 2010.

However, Kundan Sankhe has denied the hospital's allegations. He says that the patients of Govind team had minor injuries but despite this they were not being discharged. He said that Shiv Sena officials had reached the hospital on the issue of treatment and discharge of patients.
