Today, people of Pune took to the streets in large numbers against the loud DJs and increasing noise pollution in Pune. A march was taken out by 'Punekar Manch Against Loudspeakers' from Balgandharva Rangamandir Chowk towards Pune Municipal Corporation. This march was taken out to draw the attention of the administration towards the problems caused to people by the loud noise of DJs, the health effects of noise pollution and to take action against those who break the rules. The protesters demanded that in the upcoming Ganeshotsav, priority should be given to traditional instruments instead of loud DJs and noise pollution rules should be strictly enforced.

An incident came to light in which social activist Vidyanand Bapat was attacked for taking a stand against the loud noise of a DJ. This incident created an atmosphere of anger among the people of Pune. The attack on Bapat in today's march was strongly condemned. The protesters cleared their stands raising slogans like 'No DJs, want a peaceful Ganeshotsav' and 'Stop noise pollution'. Everyone has the right to celebrate festivals; But, it was also said that this should not affect the health and peace of other citizens.

Vidyanand Bapat expressed his opinion on this issue from the beginning. His statements were discussed and interviews were taken. But, surprise was expressed that he was not present in this march. Meanwhile, a man named Santosh Chavan attacked him. Given the background of this incident, questions were also raised whether Bapat was asked not to participate in the march.

Many social activists, citizens and Punekars participated in the march, raising their voice against noise pollution. Due to the increasing noise of DJs, senior citizens, children, students and sick people face a lot of problems. Therefore, the protesters demanded that noise pollution rules should be strictly followed not only during the festival but throughout the year. A demand was also made to take immediate action against groups breaking rules and those using loudspeakers beyond the limit.

Meanwhile, the police had increased the security of Vidyanand Bapat's house for his safety. So, even though they did not participate in the actual march, a large number of people were present to support their stand. Because of this march, the issue of noise pollution during Ganeshotsav in Pune has once again come to the fore. This movement gave a clear message to the administration that along with maintaining the festive spirit, people's right to peace and health should also be protected. Now, in view of the upcoming Ganeshotsav, the focus of the people of Pune is on what stand the Pune Municipal Corporation and the police administration take on the use of DJs.
