The Indian women's cricket team registered an emphatic victory in the Asia Cup 2026 match against Pakistan on Saturday. The Indian team bowled out Pakistan for 55 runs and won the match by 7 wickets after scoring 57 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in 8.4 overs.

The pitch at Dubai International Stadium was favorable for spinners and the Indian spinners took full advantage of it. Shri Charani and Prema Rawat took 3 wickets each. Charani took 3 wickets for just 7 runs in 4 overs, while Prema took 3 wickets for 9 runs in 4 overs. Deepti Sharma got 2 wickets and Shefali Verma got 1 wicket. Sri Charani was declared player of the match.

In a video shared by BCCI after the match, Prema Rawat said that repeatedly creating pressure situations during practice helped a lot in getting comfortable on the international stage.

“It's actually special for me because all the matches I have played, like WPL debut, World Cup debut, India debut, there was a full crowd there. So, I was not prepared for the pressure. Now when I go back to practice, I create that situation. So, I have got used to it now. It feels good,” she said.

Rawat also stressed the importance of maintaining India's winning streak in the next stage of the tournament.

He said, “The next stage of victory is very important. This will boost our confidence further. We do not need to get used to it because we have won three times. It will help us a lot when we move ahead in the matches.”

Mr Charani said, “The situation has made it especially important for the Indian players to rely on their strengths instead of deviating from their usual routine. We just need to stick to our strengths on the pitches we are playing on. If we follow this, we will do well in future.”

The young spinner credited India coach, Avishkar Salvi for helping the players prepare for different match situations during practice.

He said, “Avi sir, whenever we go for practice, he tells us. He just asks us to do reps on the ball. He watches us. He also gives us inputs, no matter what the situation is. If we are doing well, he doesn't tell us anything. He just tells us that we are doing well. If anything is going wrong, he is the first to come to us and guide.”
