Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Gorkhali Mahila Haritalika Teej festival organized at Jaswant Singh Ground, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun on Sunday. On this occasion, CM announced that Haritalika Teej festival will be organized on a more grand scale at the government level. While wishing Haritalika Teej to the mothers and sisters of Gorkhali community, he wished for their happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being.

This festival inspires us to move towards our goals with determination and unwavering faith. He said that traditional festivals like Teej are an important medium to connect our new generation with our culture and roots. Mothers and sisters are the greatest guardians of our culture, traditions and values. Due to their efforts, our language, folk traditions and cultural heritage are being passed on from generation to generation.

The Chief Minister said that the Gorkhali community is known for its bravery, loyalty, hard work and patriotism. Gorkha heroes have always shown indomitable courage and bravery in protecting the country's borders. The entire country is proud of the spirit of the Gorkha community to sacrifice everything for the country. The Chief Minister said that Gorkhali community has made an important contribution in the development journey of Uttarakhand. People of the society have played an important role in the progress of the state with their hard work and honesty in various fields including education, sports, art-literature and social service.

The Chief Minister said that today the foundation stone of 'Azad Hind Fauj Shaheed Dwar' to be built in the memory of martyr Captain Dal Bahadur Thapa in Mussoorie Assembly constituency has also been laid. He said that this Martyr Gate will become a symbol of the indomitable bravery, sacrifice and patriotism of the Gorkha community and will also introduce the coming generations to their sacrifice and sacrifice.

Referring to the close relations between India and Nepal, the Chief Minister said that the relations between the two countries are not just neighbours, but centuries-old cultural and family relations. Being from the border area, he has closely experienced the shared culture, intimacy and interconnectedness of India and Nepal. Referring to the natural disaster in Nepal, the Chief Minister said that India stands with Nepal in this difficult time. He expressed condolences to the disaster affected people and wished for Nepal's speedy recovery from this crisis.

30 percent horizontal reservation in services

The Chief Minister said that empowerment of mother power is one of the top priorities of the state government. In this direction, the state government has provided 30 percent horizontal reservation to women in government services. An important step has been taken towards strengthening the rights of women by implementing Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand. Work is also being done on a large scale to make women financially self-reliant through self-help groups. More than 3 lakh women in the state have not only become self-reliant by becoming 'Lakhpati Didi', but are also playing an important role in strengthening their families and the economy of the state. The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to the empowerment of mother power and their welfare.
