According to Sanjay Gupta, Shahrukh Khan had refused to do films and shows for those people and was not ready to come under any kind of pressure.

Reportedly, when Shahrukh Khan was pressurized to do films and shows, he responded very fearlessly. He said that if someone wants to harm him then he can do so but due to fear he will not act against his will. According to the filmmaker, Shahrukh had clearly said that he is not afraid of pressure and will not change his career decisions on anyone's advice.

Referring to this incident, Sanjay Gupta claimed that this attitude of Shahrukh had surprised even the people in front. He believed that Shahrukh gained a different kind of respect because of his fearless thinking. However, due to such alleged threats and security matters, Shahrukh Khan had to live under heavy police security for some time.

Another old incident regarding the security of Shah Rukh Khan is also mentioned in film critic and writer Anupama Chopra's book King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan. According to the book, when Shahrukh Khan was working on the film Duplicate, concerns were raised about his safety. At that time a senior police officer had reportedly warned director Mahesh Bhatt that Shahrukh Khan's life could be in danger. After this his security was increased and he was also provided personal security.

In another alleged story to Shahrukh Khan, there is also mention of a phone call from underworld gangster Abu Salem. According to the incident described in the book, Shahrukh was being pressurized to work with a particular producer. Despite the anger and pressure on the phone, Shah Rukh Khan reportedly tried to handle the situation calmly.
