During a high-level administrative program and public address in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz bluntly said that there is no threat to the existence of Pakistan from India or any other foreign country, but this country has been hollowed from within by its own rulers and corrupt system. He said that the daily terrorist attacks in Balochistan, suicide attacks on security posts, targeting of Chinese citizens and massacre of innocent laborers coming from Punjab have now gone beyond tolerance. Maryam said that the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and other separatist organizations are conspiring to derail development projects and national unity. However, he also added that the legitimate rights of the people of Balochistan have been suppressed by the local warlords and the corrupt political group, due to which anti-national forces are taking advantage of the dissatisfaction of the youth. Maryam Nawaz clearly said that unless strict administrative and military action is taken against the terrorism growing in Balochistan and KP, it is impossible to bring any kind of economic stability or foreign investment in Pakistan. 'Our own people looted the country with both hands': The bitter truth of economic ruin Maryam Nawaz, referring to Pakistan's crumbling economic structure and the outstretched hand of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), made sharp attacks on the country's elite class, corrupt politicians and institutional system. He said that in the history of 77 years, the lie has been spread that our troubles are caused by external forces, whereas the truth is that our own people looted the country's treasury with both hands and built properties in foreign countries. He said that when people in power snatch the country's wealth as their personal property, the result will be the same as what Pakistan is facing today – record-breaking inflation, unemployment and foreign debt trap. Maryam said that her government in Punjab province is trying to improve the system through good governance, transparent financial management and public welfare schemes, but until this organized looting and internal political blackmailing is not ended from the whole of Pakistan, the country cannot stand on its feet.
