Jaipur. Monsoon has once again become active in Rajasthan. On Saturday, it rained throughout the day in many districts of the state including Jaipur. The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert of heavy rain in about 20 districts on Sunday. Due to continuous rains, two dams of Sawai Madhopur and Dholpur overflowed, while the gates of many big dams had to be opened and water was drained.
Due to heavy rains the water level of rivers and streams has increased. At many places in Sawai Madhopur, Baran, Bundi and Kota districts, structures built on rivers were submerged in water. Due to this, traffic in rural areas has been affected. Due to rising river water in Baran, many roads were closed and villagers are facing problems in transportation.
In the last 24 hours, Khandar of Sawai Madhopur received maximum rainfall of 102 mm. About three inches of rain occurred in many areas of Karauli, Bharatpur and Alwar. One to two inches of rain occurred in many areas including Ajmer, Baran, Bundi, Dausa, Dholpur, Karauli, Tonk, Sikar, Kota and Bhilwara.
After continuous rains, water was drained by opening two gates of Baritha Dam in Bharatpur, two gates of Parvati Dam in Dholpur, three gates of Kalisindh Dam in Jhalawar and seven gates of Navnera Dam in Kota. At the same time, Ramsagar Dam of Dholpur and Mansarovar Dam of Sawai Madhopur also overflowed with water.
Due to rain, there has been a big drop in temperature in many districts of Eastern Rajasthan. In many districts including Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Dausa and Sawai Madhopur, the maximum temperature reached about six degrees below normal. At many places the day temperature remained less than 30 degrees Celsius, due to which even during the day the weather felt as cold as at night. On the contrary, in western Rajasthan, despite September, the effect of heat continues and in many districts the day temperature is being measured above 35 degrees.
According to the Meteorological Center, Jaipur, the low pressure area formed on the border of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan is still active. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain with heavy rain in some areas of Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions on Sunday. There may be light to moderate rain in Kota division. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of this weather system will start weakening from September 7 and the rainfall will reduce. After September 8, there is a possibility of less rainfall activity in the state for about a week.
