Rinku Singh has performed brilliantly as a captain in this tournament.

The final match of the UP T20 League 2026 was played between Meerut Mavericks and Lucknow Falcons. The Meerut Mavericks, captained by Rinku Singh, set a target of 204 runs. In response, the Lucknow Falcons, captained by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, were restricted to just 109 runs and lost the final by 94 runs. With this, Rinku Singh has proven his mettle as a captain. 

Rinku could play a key role in IPL 2027 

Whenever the Kolkata Knight Riders select their captain, they take into account the player’s length of service. If Hardik Pandya doesn’t join the Kolkata Knight Riders via trade, Rinku Singh seems almost certain to become the captain. Franchise co-owner Shah Rukh Khan also has a strong liking for Rinku, which has put him ahead in the race. 

Rinku Singh has been batting lower down the order for the past three seasons. However, he has still played some crucial innings.
