Suleman and Qasim, sons of former Pakistan captain and Prime Minister Imran Khan, have launched a scathing attack on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and its chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Both of them criticized the PCB for its alleged threat to boycott the match during the England tour. Qasim said that Mohsin Naqvi and the PCB had proved themselves to be “absolute idiots” in this entire matter. The controversy started when Sky Sports had interviewed Suleman and Qasim along with former England batsman Michael Atherton. There was a discussion about Imran Khan in it and it was to be aired during the second test.

According to reports, the PCB was upset with the interview and reportedly threatened to not take the field if it was aired. The telecast of the interview was postponed for some time, but later it was shown and the Pakistan team took part in the match. However, Pakistan’s then coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and captain Babar Azam had denied having knowledge of any such boycott threat. Later, due to poor performance, Sarfaraz Ahmed was removed from the post of coach.

Suleman and Qasim surrounded the PCB
Qasim told The Telegraph; “He made a complete fool of himself.” Whereas, Suleman said; “I expected some reaction, but I didn’t think they would threaten to miss the game in such an insensitive manner.” He also said that it should not be within the PCB’s jurisdiction to ask the PCB to remove the interview of a former Pakistani player. According to Suleman, this matter was not to politics, but to his father’s humanitarian condition and health.

Concern increased about Imran’s health
Imran Khan has been in jail in Pakistan for the last three years and his sons have been continuously expressing concern about his health. In this matter, the political opinions of Pakistan Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Imran Khan are different. Recently, 21 former Indian captains including Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev International The captains had appealed to Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to provide better medical facilities and security to Imran. On the orders of the court, Imran was taken to the government hospital for medical examination for some time, after which he was sent back to Adiala jail. The former captains have demanded an examination by an independent medical board appointed by the Supreme Court. This demand has arisen especially after the news of loss of vision in his right eye.
