The institute's Centre for Digital Public Goods (CDPG), in collaboration with Perfios-Anumati Account Aggregator, has organized the National Student Case Competition 2026. What is the objective of the competition?
The primary aim of this competition is to encourage students to think about real-world, practical challenges associated with the country's rapidly growing Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). Students will be presented with actual issues existing within the nation's digital systems and tasked with devising innovative solutions for them.
Prize of ₹5 Lakh
Teams participating in the competition will have the chance to win a total prize pool of ₹5 lakh. Winning teams will receive cash prizes along with certificates of merit, while other participating teams will be awarded certificates of participation. Additionally, shortlisted teams will get the opportunity to present their ideas before policymakers, experts, and academicians at the IIM Bangalore campus—an experience that could prove highly significant for their careers.
Who can apply?
Students currently pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees at any recognized college or university in the country are eligible to apply. Both full-time and part-time students may participate. Notably, the organizers encourage students from diverse disciplines—such as engineering, management, public policy, law, economics, and social sciences—to form teams together, fostering solutions derived from varied perspectives.

Online registration for this competition began on August 14, 2026. The deadline for applications is 6:00 PM on September 7, 2026. Subsequently, the names of the shortlisted teams will be announced by September 15, 2026. The national final of the competition will be held on September 30, 2026, at the IIM Bangalore campus.
