A building has collapsed near Satya Niketan in South-West Delhi. According to Delhi Police, information about the building collapse was received around 1:30 pm. According to initial information, there is a possibility that some people may be trapped under the debris. As soon as the information was received, fire department teams reached the spot and started relief work. How many people are trapped in the incident or whether there are any casualties has not been confirmed yet.
This incident happened near Shiv Temple in Satya Niketan area of Moti Bagh. According to media reports, the entire building was being used as a PG hostel for students. At that time, there were vegetable shops, street vendors and parked vehicles under the building and many people were present nearby. According to initial information, police said that till now 9 people have been rescued, 6 are in critical condition and 3 have died. At the same time, the search for the remaining people is still going on. According to officials, 12 fire tenders and rescue teams are engaged in relief work on the spot.

Divisional Officer of Delhi Fire Service, Ram Gopal Meena said that he had received information about the collapse of the building near Jewelers on Pyare Lal Road. On reaching the spot, it was found that two to three people had already been taken out and sent to Jeevanmala Hospital. After this, the fire department team started a search operation considering the possibility of someone else being trapped in the debris. According to Ramgopal Meena, the work of demolishing the building was going on at the spot. He told that the exact information about how old the building is is not yet known but it was very old and in a dilapidated condition.
BJP MLA reached the incident site
BJP MLA Anil Sharma reached the spot during rescue. He said, 'This is a very sad incident. Nothing can be more painful than this. Students from different places come to study in this building and stay here in PG. Suddenly this building has collapsed. Right now it is difficult to say whether five, ten or twenty students are trapped inside but it is certain that some students are trapped under the debris.
He further said, 'NDRF and MCD teams have so far evacuated two students safely. Some students are also calling from inside. The Chief Minister has also sent the entire team to the spot. The entire government is concerned about this incident and full attention is being paid to evacuating the students safely. At present, our biggest priority is to get all the students out safely as soon as possible.
