Rinku Singh's Meerut Mavericks have once again proved why they are considered the strongest team in the UP T20 League. In the final match of the 2026 season played in a packed arena of Ekana Stadium, Meerut Mavericks defeated Lucknow Falcons captained by Bhuvneshwar Kumar by 94 runs and won the UP T20 title for the second time. The Meerut team, which was entering the title match for the fourth time in a row, completely defeated Lucknow, which was playing the final for the first time, on every front – batting, bowling and fielding.
Divyansh Joshi's century
Captain Rinku Singh's masterstroke worked for Meerut Mavericks after winning the toss and opting to bat first. Divyansh Joshi, who was included in the playing XI as a surprise for the final match, along with Swastik Chikara made a stormy partnership of 53 runs for the first wicket. After Chikara was out, only Divyansh's bat spoke on the field.
Divyansh also hit big shots on the balls of experienced international bowlers like Bhuvi. He played a brilliant inning of 105 runs in just 40 balls with the help of 12 fours and 7 sixes. Thanks to this stormy century of Divyansh, Meerut scored 203/7 on the board.
Vishal and Zeeshan's magic works
In front of the big target of 204 runs, Lucknow Falcons were on the backfoot from the very beginning. Meerut bowlers bowled such a spell from the very beginning that Lucknow batsmen could not control themselves. Ajit Verma definitely showed some struggle by scoring 39 runs in 24 balls but as soon as he was run out, Lucknow's last hope also ended.
Meerut's fast bowler Vishal Chaudhary showed the way to the pavilion by giving 24 runs to 4 batsmen while bowling lethally. Zeeshan Ansari, who created a stir in the entire league with his spin, completed his total of 25 wickets by taking 2 wickets and proudly won the 'Purple Cap'. Lucknow team was reduced to just 109 runs in 16 overs and Meerut captured the trophy with a huge win.
