The ongoing election campaigns for 309 urban bodies in Rajasthan have now reached the decisive phase. The noise of the election campaign will stop at 6 pm on Monday, 48 hours before the first phase of voting on September 9. After this, there will be a ban on public meetings, rallies, processions, loudspeakers and other mass publicity activities. However, candidates will be able to personally contact voters door-to-door and appeal to vote in their favor.

On the last day of the campaign, candidates and leaders of other political parties including BJP, Congress will enter the field with full force. Efforts will be made to reach as many voters as possible through rallies, meetings and public relations programs in different areas. After the campaign ends at 6 pm, the election contest will go straight to the polling stations.

Voting will be held in the first phase on September 9 in 18 urban body areas of Jaipur district. Apart from Municipal Council Chaumun and Shahpura, Municipalities Dudu, Kishangarh-Renwal, Jobner, Bassi, Sambharlek, Vatika, Chaksu, Jamvaramgarh, Phagi, Naraina, Phulera, Manoharpur, Bagru, Kanota, Khejroli and Kaladera are included.

The administration has reached the final stage of preparations for voting in all these civic areas. Necessary arrangements including security arrangements at polling stations, availability of EVMs and deployment of polling teams are being finalized.

Polling parties will leave on Tuesday, September 8 to conduct elections in 18 bodies of Jaipur district. Polling parties will be dispatched from Bhavani Niketan complex located on Sikar Road. The departure of polling parties will take place in two phases. The polling teams will reach their designated polling centers and handle booth arrangements.

Polling parties have been instructed to report at 11 am. After this, the parties will be sent to their designated polling centers along with necessary election material and EVMs.

Earlier on Monday, EVMs were commissioned for the polling bodies in the first phase of Jaipur district. The work of commissioning of machines was completed under the supervision of District Election Officer Sandesh Nayak. The process of preparing and testing EVMs before voting has been completed.

In the urban body areas where voting will be held on September 9, the state government has declared a public holiday at the local level, so that more and more voters can exercise their franchise.

There will be dry day in these municipal areas from 6 pm on Monday to 6 pm on 9th September. There will be a ban on the sale of liquor during this period. Candidates will not be able to campaign publicly after 6 pm on Monday. Neither a rally can be taken out nor an election meeting, procession or loudspeaker can be used. However, candidates will be able to contact voters personally. Appeals for voting can be made in a peaceful manner by going door-to-door with a limited number of supporters.

In this way, after 6 pm on Monday, the nature of election campaign will completely change. Instead of public displays of power and big events, candidates will emphasize personal contact. The voting to be held on September 9 will decide which party and candidate the public trusts in the urban bodies.

After the completion of voting in Jaipur district, polling parties will not have to come back to Bhavani Niketan to deposit EVMs. Polling parties will have to deposit EVMs at their respective designated polling and counting centers only.

After the voting is over, the polling parties will directly reach the respective designated centers and complete the process of depositing the EVMs there. This will help in safely transporting EVMs to designated places after voting and keeping the election process orderly.
