Hyundai is working on a brand-new SUV for the Indian market. The upcoming mid-size SUV is expected to be launched in the coming months this year. The SUV is currently known by the codename BC4i and is likely to sit between the Venue and the next-gen Creta. The SUV has been spotted testing, and it looks like Hyundai is currently conducting the final rounds of road tests before the launch. We have now come across a new video where the upcoming Hyundai SUV was spotted on the road ahead of its official launch.

The video has been shared by thisisyourmaddy on his Instagram page. The video seen here was actually recorded by the social media user while travelling. The exact location where the car was spotted is not mentioned, but looking at the signboard, it looks like the test mule was spotted somewhere on the DND–Faridabad–KMP Expressway or NH 148NA.

In the video, we see a heavily camouflaged vehicle being driven on the highway. It initially looked like a hatchback, but we realised that the vlogger was probably recording the video from a tall vehicle. This was probably the reason why the test mule looked smaller in the video. The video shows the rear of the vehicle, and we also get a glimpse of the taillight design that the SUV would come with. It looks like the 7-shaped LED light on the test mule would actually serve as a turn indicator, while the actual taillamps are situated just above the bumper of the SUV. It is a sleek LED design, and we expect to see the reverse lamps integrated into the taillamp cluster.

We get a glimpse of the front and side profiles of the vehicle, but they are not clearly visible because of the window blinds in the vehicle. The whole vehicle is completely camouflaged, but the roof rails and alloy wheel design help us identify the vehicle as the BC4i. It is based on the Bayon crossover but will get a much boxier exterior design and premium features.

Recently, we came across a bunch of images where the SUV’s interiors were also leaked. The test mule seen here gets a grey-and-black-themed cabin, similar to what we saw in the Venue. We also see the new Hyundai steering wheel with Morse code (four dots) on it. We also see a curved display on the dashboard. One of them is a touchscreen infotainment system, and the other is a similarly sized digital driver display. It looks like the UI on the screen is different from that of the existing Hyundai models.

We also expect to see premium features like electrically adjustable seats, seat ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery, an auto-dimming IRVM, automatic climate control, and so on. The SUV is expected to come with other features like Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and more. The test mule seen here is also finished in a dual-tone colour scheme, as the roof of the SUV looks white.

The SUV is expected to be launched with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and IVT gearbox options only. Hyundai is also expected to offer a factory-fitted CNG manual option. Hyundai is unlikely to offer a diesel or hybrid powertrain with the upcoming BC4i.
