Pio Esposito has committed his long-term future to Inter Milan after signing a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2032. The striker, born in 2005, hailed head coach Cristian Chivu for the role he played in his development after helping the Nerazzurri complete a Serie A and Coppa Italia double.

Esposito signs long-term extension

Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal, tying him to the club until 2032. The 21-year-old attacker cemented his place in the senior side after an outstanding breakthrough season.

Esposito entered Inter’s youth academy in 2014 when he was nine years old, before going on to make his first-team debut at the FIFA Club World Cup in June 2025.

This extension underlines the Nerazzurri’s strong belief in him after he played an important part in the club’s Serie A title triumph and Coppa Italia double under Cristian Chivu in 2026.

Striker praises Chivu impact

Speaking through the club’s official channels after signing his new deal, Esposito admitted he was emotional when he arrived at the club headquarters. He also thanked manager Chivu, who had previously coached him at Under-14 and Primavera level, for helping shape his progress.

Esposito made it clear that he sees the new contract not as an end point, but as added motivation to keep getting better.

“It is very emotional, I had butterflies in my stomach in the car,” Esposito said. “Mister Chivu gave me an opportunity I dreamed of my whole life. He has always had great esteem and confidence in me, and I hope to keep repaying his trust.”

Breakout season delivers silverware

After spending two years on loan at Spezia in Serie B, Esposito returned to Inter and made an instant impression in all competitions. He recorded 10 goals and six assists in 48 appearances during his first full season in the senior side.

His season featured vital league goals against Juventus, Atalanta and Fiorentina, as well as a match-winning strike against Lecce at San Siro.

Esposito also made his Champions League debut in the starting line-up against Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena, further establishing himself as a dependable option in Chivu’s attack.

Bright start to new campaign

Esposito has taken that momentum into the current season as well, opening his tally with a spectacular backheel goal against Monza on the opening matchday.

The forward thanked the Inter supporters for the warm welcome they have given him and said he does not want to place limits on his personal numbers.

With his future now secured in Milan until 2032, Esposito is now focused on delivering consistency as Inter look to defend their domestic titles.
