Apple's new CEO has a special connection with cars and motorsports. He is not only fond of Porsche racing cars, but is also said to be a big fan of Formula 1. In such a situation, the track record of this new CEO who is taking charge of Apple and his connection with the world of motorsports is being considered interesting for the company as well.
Apple's services chief Eddy Cue told Sports Business Journal that the new CEO is a true fan of motorsports. He also hinted that he may attend more Formula 1 races than current CEO Tim Cook.
Apple and Porsche's old relationship
The connection between Apple and Porsche is not new. Both companies commemorated their shared history in a special way this year at Laguna Seca. During this, Porsche introduced a special Porsche 963 race car with a color theme inspired by Apple Computer.
This special livery was said to be inspired by the Porsche 935 K3 with Apple colors at the 1980 Le Mans. Apple's 50th anniversary and Porsche Motorsport's 75th anniversary were also celebrated through this partnership.
CEO himself a Porsche racer
Apple's new CEO's relationship with Porsche is not limited to the company level only. He himself is known to drive Porsche racing cars and participate in track days. The special thing is that he spends his time at the same racetrack where Apple and Porsche recently celebrated their long-standing relationship.
Apple's growing connection to Formula 1
The relationship between Apple and Formula 1 is also going from strength to strength. The company now has exclusive broadcast rights to Formula 1 in the US. In such a situation, if the CEO of Apple himself is interested in racing and motorsports, then it can prove to be important for the company in terms of business and strategy to Formula 1.
This means that for the new CEO of Apple, along with technology and business, racing track is also among his favorite places. This personal interest could further strengthen the future relationship between Apple and motorsports.
