A day after Bageshwar Dham’s Dhirendra Shastri questioned non-vegetarian food of Bengalis during Durga Puja, West Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya rejected Shastri’s appeal and made it clear that – ‘Dhirendra Shastri has no right to teach Bengalis what to eat on the festival. Bengalis will decide for themselves what to eat and what not to eat.’
TMC did not give entry to Bageshwar Baba in Bengal
Bageshwar Baba was not allowed to organize religious programs in West Bengal during Trinamool Congress rule. Recently, the BJP government welcomed him with fanfare. During a lecture in Howrah on Sunday, he said that sale of meat near Durga idols during festivals should be banned and Hindus in Bengal should celebrate Navratri.
Controversy created by calling non-vegetarians ‘unholy’…
Bageshwar Baba said, ‘People who consume non-vegetarian food during Durga Puja. They are unholy.’ This comment of Baba caused a lot of discussion among the people of Bengal. Many people on social media termed these comments as an attack on Bengali cuisine and ancient cultural heritage.
