Lucknow, Read: Bus services will soon start on 14 new routes between Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. With this, buses will operate on a total of 39 routes between the two states. This was agreed upon in a meeting chaired by the transport ministers of both the states in Lucknow on Monday.
In the meeting, 25 existing routes were reviewed under the agreement effective from the year 2016. After the construction of new highways, Bihar proposed new routes from various districts to UP, in which it was agreed to add 14 routes.
Uniformity in bus fares of both the states and transport agreement on equivalent kilometer basis were also discussed. Bihar assured cooperation in the operation of UP Roadways buses.
Bihar government will provide detailed details of the proposed routes. After this the UP Transport Department will take action as per rules.
