Nashra Sandhu Stars With Six-For as Pakistan Book Semi-Final Berth

An impressive spell from Nashra Sandhu set up Pakistan’s massive 72-run victory over Hong Kong in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 clash at Dubai International Stadium.

She returned with 6/7, setting up Hong Kong’s batting collapse in their 144-run chase in Monday’s clash. By this win, Pakistan secured a spot in the semifinals of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026.

Choosing to bat first, Muneeba Ali and Shawal opened the innings, where the former got dismissed for 6 runs. Despite Gull Feroza’s dismissal for 3 runs, Pakistan scored 50 runs in the powerplay.

Ayesha Zafar and Shawaal did make a partnership before the former got dismissed for 26 runs. Shawaal Zulfiqar was the leading run-scorer with 47 runs before Kaur sent back her to dug out.

With Fatima Sana adding 24* runs, other batters lost wickets at intervals as Pakistan scored 143/8 in their 20-over innings.

Chasing the 144-run target, Sana bagged the wicket of Mariko Hill for a duck. Sadia Iqbal bagged the wicket of Miles for 1 run. Despite Yasmin Daswani and Kary Chan standing firm at the crease, they managed to score only 28 runs in the powerplay.

Sandhu bagged the wicket of Yasmin for 13 runs and continued to trigger the collapse, dismissing Marina Lamplough and Maryan Bibi cheaply.

Shanzeen Shahzad and Alison Siu got dismissed by Nashra Sandhu for ducks. Dismissing Iqra Sahar for a duck, Nashra Sandhu bagged her 6-wicket haul. In four overs, she conceded only 7 runs with an economy of 1.80.

Kary Chan scored 30 runs before her dismissal by Zafar, and with Joyleen Kaur dismissed for 10 runs, Hong Kong lost all 10 wickets for 71 runs. Pakistan secured a massive victory to secure their spot in the semi finals spot.

Nashra Sandhu was named player of the match. Pakistan will play their semi-final clash against Sri Lanka in Dubai.
