Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday appointed former minister Mohsin Raza chairman of the Uttar Pradesh State Minority Commission, according to an official notification. The notification, issued by Principal Secretary, Minority Welfare, Sanyukta Samaddar, said a nine-member commission, including the chairman, had been constituted for a three-year term from the date of assuming charge.
Besides Raza, Sandeep Jain, Anshuman Kumar Singh Massey, Sardar Harpreet Singh Bedi, Mohammad Aslam, Sardar Couple winner Singh, Neha Khan, Syed Siraj Abbas Rizvi and Romanian Siddiqui have been nominated as members of the commission. Raza was the minister of state for minority welfare in the BJP government formed under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in 2017. He had also been nominated as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council.
