A campaign will be launched to remove the shortcomings and irregularities in the state government treasuries.

Bhopal. A campaign will be launched to remove the shortcomings and irregularities in the government treasuries of the state. Its instructions have been issued to all the district treasury officers by the Commissioner of Treasury and Accounts working under the Finance Department of the state. Actually, these shortcomings were found by the Office of the Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlement) located in Gwalior and asked to remove them. Therefore, these instructions have been given to further increase the quality by removing the deficiencies/irregularities reflected in the state treasury.

Action will be taken on these points

Resolution of unrealized and unadjusted amounts in VDMS (Voucher Data Management System) for financial transactions, daily accounts and cash reconciliation till the end of the year 2024-25. Finding negative balance in personal deposit accounts. Non-payment within the time period of 6 months prescribed on the authorization letters received for final payment of General Provident Fund. Not depositing the amount of revenue/securities/other deposits which has not been claimed for more than three years in the government account as per rules.

The amount of PD (Personal Deposit Account) / ED (Educational Deposit Account) accounts which have been inoperative for more than three years are not to be transferred to the revenue deposit as per rules. The revenue income received by the Forest Division should not be deposited in the Consolidated Fund of the State Government but kept in the personal deposit account. Storing stamps beyond the prescribed limit. Income tax and GST not being deducted as per rules in the payment bills made to contractors. Deficiencies found in the software of treasury computer system.
