Dungarpur. A cousin brother and sister, residents of Katisaur of Aspur police station area of Dungarpur district, died due to drowning in an accident on Monday afternoon in Lodhiya Kund located in Mhow area of Indore district of Madhya Pradesh.
The accident occurred due to slipping while walking near the pond. In an attempt to save his sister, the brother also went into deep water.
According to the information, Katisaur resident Ajit Singh Chauhan (26) and his cousin sister Anjali had gone to visit Lodhiya Kund located in Simrol police station area with their family members on Monday.
At around 1:30 pm, Anjali, Ajit and Ashwini were moving forward holding each other’s hands on the banks of the pond. Meanwhile, Anjali’s foot slipped on the stones and all three became unbalanced and started falling into the water.
Mahendra Singh and Abhiraj, who were following, pulled Ashwini out safely, but Anjali and Ajit went into deep water. The people present nearby pulled both of them out after a lot of effort, but by then they were dead.
On information, Simrol police station reached the spot. Both the bodies were taken to the government hospital in 108 ambulance, where doctors declared them dead. There was mourning among the family members after the incident.
