PM Modi said, “This dedicated freight corridor is a witness to how the working culture of the country has changed in the last 12 years. The idea of this dedicated freight corridor started in 2004. In 2006, a special company was formed to do this work and then till 2014, the files kept moving from here to there. Unfortunately, these files also did not get any dedicated corridor. Files She used to get stuck, hang, wander.”
He said, “After 2014, with your blessings, I reached Delhi and as soon as I reached there, we started the work of speeding it up. Today, the work of 2,800 km dedicated freight corridor has been completed. Today the Eastern and Western freight corridors are becoming the mainstay of the country's trade and business.”
PM Modi said that the Dedicated Freight Corridor is the lifeline of rapidly developing India and has transformed India's transportation sector.
He said, “Earlier, goods trains used to run on the same tracks on which passenger trains ran. That is, both travel and transport were slow but the dedicated freight corridor has changed the situation. Today, more than 430 goods trains run daily on the Eastern and Western freight corridors. Earlier, the goods train which used to travel 100 km in 6.30 hours, now the same goods train can travel 100 km in less than half the time.” It completes the journey.”
He told that this freight corridor is amazing for another reason. Recently double stack container freight train has been operated from JNPT Port Mumbai to Vadodara. Due to the running of this goods train, goods equivalent to more than 250 trucks came from Mumbai to Vadodara in one go.
During this, he took a dig at the opposition and said, “Now these angry uncles will shout, what will happen to the truck drivers, where will the trucks go, what will happen to them? Now this uncle has got the job.”
PM Modi said that along with the freight corridor, now rail in India is also reaching places where it had not reached for so many decades. Be it Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, the tribal areas here are also being connected by rail through this project. In the earlier government, 1-2 trains were announced in the budget and that too was trumpeted throughout the year. Today, new trains are being run one after the other in the country throughout the year. Even today many new trains have been started in this program.
He said that this year's railway budget has been more than Rs 3 lakh crore, which is many times more than 12 years ago. That means the expenditure on modernization of railways is creating thousands of new jobs.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the manufacturing strength of Vadodara. He said, “Among the seven streams of vision of a developed India that I have set before the country, one of them is manufacturing and the city of Vadodara knows and understands its power very well. Vadodara has been a reflection of how education, skill and industry collaborate for 150 years.”
PM Modi said, “Now this city is also known for the country's first Made in India military transport aircraft. The first flight of C-295 has seen the sky here. I congratulate the people of Vadodara for getting this distinction.”
He recalled that when he became CM, delegations often came with demands for manufacturing. Today the city has changed. It is now known for being India's first made-in-India military transport aircraft.
He said that in the last decade, India has also become a big manufacturer of rail coaches, metro coaches and railway engines. Since 2014, India has manufactured about 50 thousand modern rail coaches. The old government could not build 50 thousand toilets in 10 years.
PM Modi indirectly targeted Rahul Gandhi and said, “Those who mislead with the echo of lies will be found at every intersection. The youth of India walks with the roar of truth, walks with the roar of truth, walks for the roar of truth. Our young friends are seeing how focused the government is working on all the sectors in the country today, be it solar, wind, hydro, nuclear.”
He said earlier solar projects were expensive due to dependence on imports but domestic manufacturing has gained momentum in the last few years. With greater self-reliance, PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme is growing rapidly. Today 55 lakh families have installed solar panels on their rooftops, including 11 lakh families in Gujarat.
The Prime Minister said, “This period of India is unprecedented. This is the heyday of India's youth power. This time will never come back in India's life. Therefore, we have to keep the goal of a developed India in 2047 paramount. We have to keep India developed.”
