This 2002 film starring Preity Zinta and Arjun Rampal was originally slated for release in 1991. The film was initially titled “Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere.” It was supposed to star Salman Khan and Meenakshi Seshadri. Rajkumar Santoshi originally planned to make the film with Salman Khan and Meenakshi Seshadri, but the project never materialized. Prior to Salman Khan, the film was offered to Rishi Kapoor, but he declined.

The film was shelved for 11 years and was later remade with Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Mahima Chaudhary, and Jimmy Shergill.
