Anchor Suma pointed out that the film’s hero resembles the kind of male characters often seen in Sekhar Kammula’s films, while its heroine is somewhat similar to the heroes portrayed in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s movies. Responding to the comparison, Vanga shared his personal opinion about Sekhar Kammula’s films. He said that he does not particularly like the heroes in Kammula’s movies, making it clear that those characters do not appeal to him personally. However, Vanga had a different view when it came to Kammula’s female characters. He said he likes the way the heroines in Sekhar Kammula’s films are portrayed and finds those characters appealing. His response offered an interesting contrast, as he appreciated Kammula’s heroines while openly admitting that he is not fond of the filmmaker’s heroes. The comments have added further curiosity around Epic and its characterisation.
