Mumbai Famous Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has spoken openly for the first time about the failure of her comeback film 'Bantwara 1947' at the box office. In a recent interview he said that he had no control over the commercial success of the film, but he was proud to be a part of the project. Preeti made a comeback after almost eight years in this historical drama directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. However, the film failed to attract audiences on 14 August 2026 and proved to be a flop at the box office.

When Preity was asked about the poor performance of the film, she said, “I always keep my expectations limited. When I am in front of the camera, I give my 100 per cent. I believe in karma, do your work and leave the rest to God. You have no control over what the outcome of the film will be.” She further said, “I give my whole life for every film. I gave my 1000 percent for this film too. Whatever may have been the business of the film, my experience as an artist was very wonderful.”

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi, who played the lead role with Preeti in this film, also recently expressed sadness over the flop of the film. He said that he was surprised as to how the film failed so badly at the box office despite receiving praise from critics.

'Partition 1947' flopped at the box office due to a big clash with Emraan Hashmi's 'Awarapan 2' and a weak theatrical run. According to reports, the film could collect only Rs 53.01 crore worldwide, which is much less than its budget.

Preity Zinta has now left behind the failure of 'Partition 1947' and is busy preparing for the release of her next action film 'Vibe'. In this film, she will be seen in the lead role of an undercover agent with Kunal Khemu. The film is set to release in theaters on 18 September 2026.
