By running a campaign on the highway in Kanpur, major action was taken against 204 vehicles parked on the side.

Kanpur. Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kumar, a special campaign was conducted on the major highways of Kanpur city with the aim of maintaining road safety and smooth traffic system. During this time, traffic police took action against vehicles parked unnecessarily on the roadside.

During the campaign, the vehicles parked unauthorized on the side of the highway were removed by the traffic inspectors and CC team in-charges of the respective zones and the drivers were made aware and instructed not to park their vehicles on the roadside, to use only the designated parking spaces, to install necessary safety indicators (reflectors, triangles, parking lights etc.) in case of vehicle breakdown and to strictly follow the traffic rules.

During this period, challan action was taken as per rules under the Motor Vehicles Act (MV Act) against 204 vehicles violating traffic rules. Traffic Police Kanpur city has appealed to the general public and drivers to follow traffic rules, not park vehicles unnecessarily on the side of highways or main roads and cooperate with the traffic police in maintaining smooth, safe and well-organized traffic system.
