Health Desk. Burning sensation while urinating may seem like a common problem, but it could also be due to dehydration, urinary infection or other health problems. In urine infection, symptoms like burning sensation along with frequent urination, pain in the lower abdomen and cloudy or strong smelling urine can also be seen.
1. water
In case of burning sensation during urination, the most important thing is not to allow dehydration in the body. Drinking enough water can help ensure regular urination and flush out bacteria from the urinary tract. However, people suffering from kidney or heart disease should maintain their water intake as per doctor's advice.
2. Cucumber
Cucumber has high water content, so including it in food can help in keeping the body hydrated. Getting enough fluids is important for urinary tract health.
3.Coriander water
In Ayurveda, it is considered a cooling drink, but there is limited scientific evidence for its use as a treatment for dysuria. But its consumption can be beneficial.
4. Coconut Water
Coconut water is an option to provide fluids to the body. However, if the cause of burning sensation during urination is infection then coconut water is not an option for treatment. In such a situation, medical examination may be necessary.
What things to avoid?
Coffee, alcohol, very spicy foods, and some acidic drinks can increase bladder irritation in some people during a burning sensation. Therefore, do not consume them until symptoms persist.
When is it necessary to see a doctor?
If burning sensation during urination is accompanied by fever, chills, waist or back pain, vomiting or blood in urine, then it should not be ignored. Such symptoms can be a sign of infection reaching the kidneys and immediate medical advice is necessary.
