ENG vs PAK 3rd Test Playing 11: Joe Root-led England will square off against Babar Azam-led Pakistan in the 3rd Test played at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

England secured a win in the first two games of the series and will be aiming for a whitewash. Meanwhile, the Pakistan cricket team is under scrutiny after back-to-back defeats and has made a major change in squad and coaching setup ahead of the third test.

Currently, England are in sixth position while Pakistan are at the bottom of the WTC 2025-27 points table.

England won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking at the toss, England captain Joe Root said, “We’re going to bowl first, like the overhead conditions. It looks a very good pitch actually, but I feel if there’s anything in it, a bit of moisture has been around the last couple of days, and cool weather is set for the next couple of days, so I don’t see it cracking or deteriorating too quickly. I feel like that’s the best chance of getting the most out of it.”

Speaking on today’s England playing 11, Root said, “We’re unchanged. No, we wanted to try and replicate what we’ve been doing. We’ve played two brilliant performances. We want to build towards continuing that and becoming a team that gets used to winning and doing it in a certain way, and this is an opportunity to do that.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Babar Azam said, “Not difficult. Yes, after that we had a couple of changes, but I think a good opportunity for the new boys, and yes, we are trying to do our best in this match.”

Speaking on today’s Pakistan Cricket Team playing 11, Babar said, “We have four changes, three debutants and Saim Ayub is coming.”
