The controversy over entry of Muslims in Garba and Dandiya programs during Navratri in Maharashtra has intensified. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has appealed not to include Muslims in Garba and Dandiya events in the state. Meanwhile, Amrita Fadnavis, wife of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has expressed a different opinion from VHP's stand. He said that festivals bring everyone together and if a Muslim person celebrates the festival by participating in Garba then there is nothing wrong in it.

After the statement given by VHP regarding the entry of Muslims in Garba and Dandiya, along with Amrita Fadnavis, actor Shreyas Talpade has also expressed his opinion on this issue. Amrita Fadnavis's full statement

Amrita Fadnavis said, 'I do not want to go into depth behind this but I would definitely like to say that Garba is a national festival and it is celebrated abroad also. In such a situation, if any person from any community or religion wants to come to watch Garba peacefully without creating any kind of ruckus, then I do not see any problem in it. However, I don't know what other reasons are behind this.

Where did the controversy start?

On VHP's decision to stop entry of Muslims in Garba and Dandiya programs in Maharashtra, national spokesperson Vinod Bansal said that whether it is Garba, Dandiya, Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Navratri or Ganesh Puja, people coming to these festivals should follow Hindu traditions with reverence and faith.

He said, 'In the last few years, some Islamic Jihadi elements, anti-social people and people with anti-Hindu mentality have been caught doing wrong things during Garba events. They allege that the mentality of such people is to disrupt programs, create obstacles and spoil the atmosphere through their Jihadi ideology.

Vinod Bansal said that people should be allowed entry into the program only after checking their identity. This is a festival of faith, so only those people who have faith in it should participate in it. He said that he has no ill will against any particular religion.

Nitesh Rane supported VHP's decision

Maharashtra Minister Nitish Rane supported VHP and said that the identity of people coming to Garba events should be checked. Rane also talked about reciting Hanuman Chalisa before entry. In an interview given to PTI, he said that those who do not believe in idol worship should not participate in Hindu religious events. Rane claimed that cases of love jihad increase during such festivals.
