An important information to price and EMI has come to the fore for customers preparing to buy Hyundai Creta. According to the company’s current official price list, the starting ex-showroom price of Creta is ₹ 10,90,700. But this price is for the base E petrol variant. It is not correct to call it Diesel E in the original report. On Hyundai’s official website, Creta is offered in petrol, diesel and turbo-petrol engine options.

Which is the Creta worth ₹10.90 lakh?

According to Hyundai’s official website, the Creta starts at ₹10,90,700 ex-showroom. This entry-priced car is offered as the base E variant. Both petrol and diesel engines are available in the current line-up.

Therefore calling the ex-showroom price of ₹10.90 lakh as Creta E Diesel is factually incorrect. Available September 2026 price data from Delhi puts the ex-showroom price of Creta E Diesel at around ₹12.53 lakh and on-road price at around ₹14.85 lakh.

How much EMI on ₹2 lakh down payment?

If the calculation is done considering the base Creta E petrol priced at ₹10,90,700 and as a simple estimate, ₹2 lakh down payment is deducted, the loan amount will be around ₹8.91 lakh. At 9 percent annual interest and tenure of 7 years i.e. 84 months, EMI will be around ₹ 14,330 per month.

Keep in mind that in a real car loan, the bank may decide the amount based on loan approval, on-road expenses, down payment and bank conditions rather than the ex-showroom price. Processing fees, insurance and other charges may also change the final amount.

How true is the claim of ₹17,350 EMI in the original report?

The original copy mentions 9 percent interest on a loan of ₹10.67 lakh and EMI of ₹17,350 for a tenure of 7 years. Mathematically, the EMI of this amount comes to around ₹ 17,167 per month. That means there is a difference of about ₹ 183 per month even in the published EMI.

The total payment on this loan in 84 months will be around ₹ 14.42 lakh and the interest will be around ₹ 3.75 lakh. However, this calculation will be applicable only if the bank actually approves a loan of ₹10.67 lakh and the interest rate remains 9 percent for the entire 7 years.

Creta on-road price in Delhi

The on-road price in Delhi is higher than the ex-showroom price as it includes road tax, registration, insurance and other applicable charges. Available data for September 2026 shows on-road prices for the base Creta E petrol to be around ₹12.66-12.97 lakh. There is slight variation due to fees and calculation method on different portals.

What to look for before buying Creta?

  • Don’t take the starting price of ₹10.90 lakh as the price of Diesel E.
  • Consider on-road charges separately along with down payment.
  • Confirm the actual loan amount received from the bank.
  • Add processing fee and insurance cost along with EMI.
  • Get a city wise final quote from the Hyundai dealer before booking the car.
