Patna. The process of getting the map passed may become easier in the future for those building houses or commercial buildings in Bihar. The state government is working on the draft of Bihar Building Bylaws-2026. The aim of the new provisions is to make approvals to building construction simpler, faster and more transparent.
The mapping process will be online
In the proposed system, there is a preparation to provide the facility of self-certification for small residential buildings following fixed standards. Residential buildings up to 24 meters high can be included in this system. With the system of submitting maps and necessary documents online, people will have to visit offices less.
Relief if decision not taken in 30 days
A provision for time bound approval has also been kept in the draft. If no approval or objection is received on the application within 30 days under the prescribed procedure, then a system is proposed to consider it automatically approved. This is expected to prevent unnecessary delays.
Different rules according to buildings
The new format provides for placing buildings in different categories based on their size and risk. The process of investigation and technical approval will continue for big and tall buildings. Besides, it will also be necessary to follow the minimum standards of rooms, kitchen, staircase and other parts.
The aim of the government is to make building construction approval digital and transparent, so that common people can get the necessary permission in less time.
