The Bangladesh women’s cricket team defeated the UAE by 34 runs to advance to the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026. Bangladesh, batting first, scored 103/7 in the match played at the Dubai International Stadium. In response, the UAE could only manage 69/9 in 20 overs. Bangladesh will now face India in the opening semi-final on September 10.

Bangladesh scored 103 runs

The UAE won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first. Bangladesh got off to a poor start, losing wickets in the opening overs. Sharmin Akhtar anchored the innings with 38, while captain Nigar Sultana contributed 23. Zuairia Ferdous also scored 16. With these innings, Bangladesh reached 103 for 7 in 20 overs.

UAE innings ended at 69 runs

Chasing a target of 104, the UAE batsmen were unable to withstand the Bangladesh bowling. Tirtha Satish scored 11 runs and was the main double-digit scorer. The UAE team could only manage 69 for 9 in 20 overs. Bangladesh won the match by 34 runs.

Rabeya Khan wreaked havoc

Bangladesh’s bowling proved decisive in defending a low total. Rabeya Khan took 3/14 in her 4 overs. Marufa Akhtar and Nahida Akhtar took two wickets each. Sultana Khatun and Fahima Khatun also took one wicket each.

Now India and Bangladesh clash

With Bangladesh’s victory, all four semi-finalists for the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 have been confirmed. The first semi-final between India and Bangladesh will be played on September 10, 2026, at the Dubai International Stadium, starting at 8:00 PM IST. Sri Lanka and Pakistan will face each other in the second semi-final on September 11. The final will be played on September 13.

India eyes the final

India secured a place in the semifinals after a strong performance in the group stage. The team registered a massive 137-run win over Hong Kong China, with Smriti Mandhana scoring 124. India will now face Bangladesh.
