Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial ended in a mistrial after a 12-member jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict on whether she was not guilty by reason of insanity. Three jurors publicly blamed an unnamed male holdout for blocking the verdict. Clancy admitted killing her three children in 2023, while her defence argued she was experiencing a psychotic episode.
New Delhi, September 9, 2026: Three jurors in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial have criticised a fellow juror for preventing them from reaching a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity in the case involving the deaths of her three young children in 2023.
The three women, including the foreperson, spoke publicly for the first time in an interview aired on Tuesday on NBC-owned Boston station NBC10. Judge William Sullivan in Plymouth, Massachusetts, declared a mistrial on Friday after the 12-member jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict.
Jurors Accuse Holdout Of Blocking Verdict
The jurors had repeatedly said they were deadlocked. Foreperson Roni Carlson blamed the deadlock on one male juror who refused to change his position despite acknowledging he had reasonable doubt.
