New Delhi . Apple has launched iPhone 18 Pro (iPhone 18 Pro) and iPhone 18 Pro Max (iPhone 18 Pro Max) under its new Pro series. Many changes to camera, processor, battery, connectivity and Artificial Intelligence have been made in the new models. In India, the starting price of iPhone 18 Pro has been kept at ₹ 1,64,900 and the starting price of iPhone 18 Pro Max has been kept at ₹ 1,79,900.

The new iPhone 18 Pro models have a 48MP fusion main camera. Its specialty is the Variable Aperture System, in which six laser-cut blades adjust according to the lighting and depth of field. This helps in capturing photos better in different conditions. Pro-Controls to manually control shutter speed, aperture and white balance are also available for content creators.

Apple Reference Image feature is also provided in the phone. Through this, while taking a picture, the data of every pixel is saved with a digital signature. Its purpose is to help detect whether the photo is real or has been altered using AI tools.

Dynamic Island has also been made smaller and more useful in the new models than before. With the new display design, three Live Activities can be seen simultaneously on it. Activities like cab location, match score and timer can be visible simultaneously. Face ID, purchase authentication, and app login also continue to be available.

The A20 Pro chipset based on 2-nanometer technology has been provided in the Pro models. It has 50 percent more memory bandwidth, 40 percent faster 7-core GPU and 32-core Neural Engine compared to the A19 Pro. It is said to be a more powerful processor for heavy gaming and AI based tasks.

A new thermal management system has been provided to control the temperature of the phone. It includes a vapor chamber with three times more surface area, which helps maintain temperature during prolonged heavy performance.

In terms of battery, the iPhone 18 Pro Max offers up to 45 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro has this capacity of up to 36 hours. iPhone 18 Pro can be charged wired up to 50 percent in about 15 minutes. Pro Max is claimed to provide about seven hours of video playback time from five minutes of charging.

Both models come with iOS 27. These include Apple Intelligence and the new Siri AI, which can help in finding information in messages, emails and photos. Siri can also take the next action by understanding the activity going on on the screen. Features like Clean Up and Image Playground are also included. Data is processed on-device and in private clouds.

In many countries, these models will come only with eSIM support. Airtel, Jio and Vi's eSIM will be supported in India. These also include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Apple's N1 and C2 wireless chips.

The iPhone 18 Pro series will be available in Black, Silver, Glacier and the new Burgundy color. 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB options will be available for storage. 40 percent recycled material has been used in the phone and 100 percent recycled cobalt has been used in the battery. Also introduced are new silicone cases, TechWoven cases and recycled polyester wrist straps in six colors.

Pre-orders for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will begin in India on Saturday, September 12. The sale of both smartphones will start from Friday, September 18.
