Kinetic has upgraded the DX+ electric scooter with a larger 3.1kWh LFP battery pack, increasing its certified IDC range to 132km and its claimed real-world range to 105-110km.

The new DX+ 3.1kWh costs Rs 1,27,650 ex-showroom. The updated DX with a 3kWh battery is priced at Rs 1,18,599.

This is a useful improvement over the original DX+ launched in July 2025. That scooter used a 2.6kWh LFP battery and carried a 116km IDC range claim. The bigger pack therefore adds 16km to the certified figure, while Kinetic is now also publishing a more useful real-world estimate.

The new battery uses LFP, or lithium iron phosphate, chemistry. Kinetic pairs it with a hub-mounted BLDC motor producing 3.8kW of peak power. Riders get ‘Range’ and ‘Power’ modes, along with K-Coast regenerative technology that recovers some energy while the scooter slows down.

The company says charging from 0 to 80 percent takes approximately three hours.

Kinetic’s stated 105-110km figure is 17-27 kilometres lower than the 132km IDC number, depending on actual use.

As with every EV, real range will still vary with speed, load, riding mode, traffic, gradients, tyre pressure and weather.

The original DX range arrived in 2025 at Rs 1,11,499 for the DX and Rs 1,17,499 for the DX+ in Pune.

Kinetic’s current line-up now includes the DX 3kWh at Rs 1,18,599 and DX+ 3.1kWh at Rs 1,27,650. The company’s website also continues to list older 2.6kWh versions in limited availability.

So the upgraded DX+ costs more than the scooter that revived the nameplate last year, but it also brings a larger battery and longer claimed range.

The DX+ price includes a retractable charging cable and telematics. Kinetic says the new version is available in Black, Silver, Blue, White and Red, while the DX 3kWh comes in Black and Silver.

The DX+ has 37 litres of under-seat storage, one of its strongest everyday specifications.

It rides on 12-inch tubeless tyres at both ends and has 165mm ground clearance. Braking is handled by a 220mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum.

Park Assist with Reverse is intended to make low-speed manoeuvring easier, while the battery and electrical system carry IP67 protection against water and dust.

Other features include Easy Charge, telematics and an Easy Flip one-touch pillion footrest. The scooter has a 1,315mm wheelbase and a 714mm-long seat.

Kinetic has also announced several customer benefits around the upgraded range.

The DX 3kWh gets a Rs 2,000 benefit, while the DX+ gets Rs 3,000. The company also lists an Rs 8,999 extended-warranty benefit for the DX+, Rs 5,000 Amazon cashback and a Rs 5,000 PM E-Drive benefit.

These should not automatically be added together for every customer without checking eligibility and the exact terms at the dealership.

The larger question is whether the battery upgrade improves the DX+’s value enough against established electric scooters.

The original 2.6kWh DX+ leaned heavily on the revived Kinetic styling and metal body, but its battery capacity was relatively modest for its price. Moving to 3.1kWh addresses that weakness directly.

More importantly, Kinetic is claiming 105-110km in real use rather than asking customers to judge the scooter only by a laboratory-style IDC figure.

At Rs 1.28 lakh before registration and other charges, the DX+ still has to compete on price, service support and ownership experience. But the 3.1kWh update gives it a clearer everyday proposition: more than 100km of claimed practical range, 37 litres of storage and a three-hour 0-80 percent charging time in the same metal-bodied DX format.
