Technology Desk: With the launch of the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple has significantly increased the prices of some of its old iPhone models in India. Surprisingly, the iPhone models which were expected to be priced lower have now become more expensive than before.
Apple's new prices include the iPhone 16, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, and iPhone Air. Some models have seen price hikes ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹30,000, while the top 1TB model of the iPhone Air has seen a huge jump of ₹65,000.

Buying iPhone 17 is now costlier by ₹17 thousand
The 256GB model of iPhone 17 was earlier priced at ₹82,900. Now its price has been increased to ₹ 99,900. That means, to buy this model, customers will now have to spend ₹ 17,000 more directly.
At the same time, the price of 512GB variant of iPhone 17 has also increased from ₹ 1,02,900 to ₹ 1,24,900. That means there has been an increase of ₹ 22,000 i.e. about 21.4%. This clearly means that even after the arrival of the new Pro model, the price of the normal iPhone 17 has increased significantly instead of decreasing.
iPhone 16 also becomes costlier by ₹20 thousand
Apple has also made a big change in the price of iPhone 16. The price of its 128GB model was earlier ₹ 69,900, which has now increased to ₹ 89,900. That means customers buying iPhone 16 will now have to pay ₹ 20,000 more than before.
This change is especially shocking for those customers who were hoping to buy the older model at a lower price after the new iPhone is launched.
Big increase in the price of iPhone 17e
- The 256GB model of iPhone 17e was earlier priced at ₹64,900. Now its price has increased to ₹ 79,900.
- That means its price has increased by ₹ 15,000.
- Apart from this, the price of 512GB model has now reached ₹ 1,04,900.
The biggest shock on iPhone Air
The biggest discussion is about the increase in the prices of iPhone Air. The price of its top model has increased so much that even customers are surprised.
iPhone Air
- The price of the 256GB model has increased from ₹1,19,900 to ₹1,49,900. That means an increase of ₹30,000.
- The price of the 512GB model has increased from ₹1,39,900 to ₹1,74,900. That means ₹35,000 more.
- The price of the 1TB model has increased directly from ₹1,59,900 to ₹2,24,900. That means there is a huge increase of ₹ 65,000.
- That means the price of 1TB iPhone Air has now crossed ₹ 2 lakh.
How much does the new iPhone 18 Pro cost?
Apple has kept the starting price of iPhone 18 Pro at ₹ 1,64,900. Whereas the starting price of iPhone 18 Pro Max is ₹ 1,79,900. In comparison, the launch price of iPhone 17 Pro was ₹ 1,34,900. That means the new Pro series has come at a much more expensive price than before. Similarly, the launch price of iPhone 17 Pro Max was ₹ 1,49,900, while the starting price of iPhone 18 Pro Max is ₹ 1,79,900.
After all, why did Apple make old iPhones expensive?
This is the biggest question. Usually, when a company launches a new iPhone, the price of older models is expected to reduce. But this time the picture appears to be the opposite. Such an increase in prices may spoil the budget of customers planning to buy older models of Apple. Its effect can be seen especially during the festive season.
Experts believe that if customers were planning to buy iPhone 17 or iPhone Air in the festive sale, then after the price increase, they can postpone the purchase or wait for offers and discounts.
What changed for customers?
If you understand in simple language, after the arrival of new iPhone, buying old iPhone has not become cheap this time, but in many cases it has become quite expensive.
iPhone 16 priced at ₹69,900 is now priced at ₹89,900.
iPhone 17 which was priced at ₹82,900 is now priced at ₹99,900.
The iPhone 17e which was priced at ₹64,900 is now priced at ₹79,900.
And the 1TB iPhone Air which was priced at ₹1,59,900 is now available at ₹2,24,900.
The biggest blow has been to the 1TB model of iPhone Air, whose price has increased by ₹ 65,000. In such a situation, if you are planning to buy a new iPhone, then comparing the new price and festive sale offers before purchasing can be very beneficial for you.
