Harshit Rana: Team’s star fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 International series against Afghanistan and Asian Games 2026 due to injury. Yash Thakur has been included in the team in his place.
Harshit Rana: A three-match T20 series is to be played between India and Afghanistan from September 13. Before this upcoming series, there was a major reshuffle in the 15-member squad of Team India. The team’s star fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 International series against Afghanistan as well as the Asian Games 2026. BCCI has also announced his replacement.
Harshit Rana out of Afghanistan T20 and Asian Games
Actually, Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the T20 series against Afghanistan and the Asian Games due to injury. BCCI issued a media advisory saying that Harshit was making good progress during his rehab at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. He suffered a strain while bowling, due to which he has been ruled out of the upcoming series and Asian Games. But on September 7, while bowling during a match simulation, he suffered a strain in his ‘rectus femoris’, due to which he had to be ruled out.
Yash Thakur got a chance
The board has also informed that the Men’s Selection Committee has included Vidarbha fast bowler Yash Thakur in the team as a replacement for Harshit Rana. Let us tell you, Yash made his debut in T20 International during India’s tour of Zimbabwe this year. So far he has played 2 T20 International matches for India, in which he has taken 4 wickets. Apart from this, he has taken 81 wickets in 50 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches at an economy of 7.04.
