Bihar News: Health Minister of Bihar Nishant During his one-day visit to Vaishali district, he conducted a surprise inspection of Hajipur Sadar Hospital. During this, he took stock of the hospital arrangements including emergency, ICU, arrangements for treatment of patients, presence of doctors and health workers, medicine distribution and stock. During the inspection, the Health Minister expressed displeasure when some patients were referred without primary investigation and gave strict instructions to the officials.
The Health Minister said that every patient reaching the hospital should get better health facilities on time. No patient should be referred without primary investigation and necessary treatment.
Inspected emergency and ICU wards
The Health Minister first inspected the emergency and ICU wards of the hospital. He took information about the duty roster, attendance register of doctors and health workers and the medical facilities being provided to the patients.
During this, he interacted directly with the admitted patients and took feedback about the hospital's arrangements and the quality of treatment. An elderly patient expressed satisfaction about the health facilities available in the hospital.
Expressed displeasure over referral without preliminary investigation
During the inspection of Minor OT and Referral Register, some such cases came to the notice of the Health Minister in which patients were referred to higher institutions without completing the primary investigation and necessary medical procedures.

Expressing displeasure on this, the Health Minister termed it as serious negligence. He directed to investigate the matters and take necessary action and keep all the records and documents to the referral process safe.
