Lucknow, 10 September 2026: The troubles of senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan are not showing any signs of abating. Vigilance has filed an FIR against five people including Azam Khan for alleged irregularities in land sale and loss to government revenue. Vigilance investigation has revealed loss to government revenue estimated at Rs 2.8 crore. The allegation is that the land was sold against the rules and thereby benefited some private firms.
All these matters are to about 60 thousand square feet land of Haj Committee located at Kayamkheda in Eshbagh area of Lakhnauna. This land was registered in Khasra number 117 of Kayamkheda. It is alleged that the land was sold by ignoring the rules, due to which the government treasury had to suffer a loss of crores of rupees.

After the vigilance investigation, a crime has now been registered against all the accused under racketeering, corruption and sections, which include the following names:
Azam Khan, the then chairman of the State Haj Committee.
Laik Ahmed (retd), the then Secretary of the State Haj Committee.
The then Secretary of the State Haj Committee, Dr. M.A. Khan (retired)
Amish Developers Firm Proprietor Mohd. Ayub
Mustaqeem Ahmed
It is noteworthy that an investigation into this matter was ordered by the Uttar Pradesh government on May 3, 2024. After a thorough investigation by Vigilance, now strict legal action has been taken.
