Prepare modak stuffing like this

First of all, heat some ghee in a pan and lightly fry the poppy seeds in it. After this, add grated coconut and fine jaggery to it and cook on low flame. When the jaggery melts well and the mixture becomes slightly thick, add cardamom and nutmeg powder to it and mix. Then turn off the gas and let the stuffing cool down.

Make cover with rice flour

Now add water, some milk, ghee and a pinch of salt in a vessel and boil it. When the water boils, reduce the flame and slowly add the rice flour and mix. Cover it and cook for a few minutes. After this, after it cools down slightly, knead the dough well and make it soft.

Now make small balls of dough and shape them like a bowl. Fill the coconut-jaggery stuffing in the middle and close it from the top by making slight pleats on the edges. If you want, you can also use modak mould.

steamed

Place the prepared modak in a steamer and sprinkle light water on top. Cook them in steam for about 10-12 minutes. When the modaks are cooked well, take them out and offer them to Bappa. On Ganesh Chaturthi, hot homemade Ukdiche Modak will not only be special for Prasad, but will also double the taste of the festival with the family.
