Sugar Price Today: Sugar prices decreased before Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath, how much was the price from Delhi to Ranchi?

Sugar Price Today: Recently, there was an outcry among the people due to the sudden increase in the prices of sugar. However, now after the news of fall in sugar prices before the festive season, people have heaved a sigh of relief. Recently, due to fall in ex-mill rate, a huge decline is being recorded in wholesale and retail rates.

Talking about the ex-mill price of today, September 10, the ex-mill rate of sugar in South Maharashtra has come down from Rs 4950 to Rs 4865 per quintal. In many states, the price of ex-mill sugar has come down to around Rs 44-50 per kg, whereas a few weeks ago it was around Rs 65 per kg.

Government increased strictness

In view of the festive season, the government has increased the strictness regarding sugar prices. After which a decline is being seen in the prices of sugar. The Center has asked sugar mills to ensure adequate supply of sugar in the market and sell it at ‘fair prices’. Apart from this, the government also clarified that it will continuously monitor sugar prices and, if necessary, take corrective steps to keep the prices stable.

What are the prices of sugar in different cities?

If we talk about the retail price of sugar, due to the strictness and measures taken by the government, sugar has become cheaper by Rs 12 in Delhi from the all-time high rate of August 22. It is being told that on September 9 it has come down to Rs 56 per kg. Apart from this, if we talk about Kanpur, the price of sugar has decreased from Rs 69 to Rs 56. Here a decline of Rs 13 per kg is being seen.

Currently sugar is priced at Rs 56 in Mumbai and Raipur. In Ranchi, sugar has come down from Rs 70 to Rs 57. Here sugar has become cheaper by Rs 13. But if we still see, earlier sugar was being sold at Rs 50 to Rs 54 per kg and now its price is Rs 56 to Rs 57 per kg. The price of sugar has increased from Rs 71 to Rs 58 per kg in Guwahati and Rs 70 to Rs 58 per kg in Kolkata. Even in Hyderabad and Chennai, sugar had reached Rs 70 on August 22. Now it has come down to Rs 57 and Rs 60 respectively.
