A fantastic opportunity has arisen for young people seeking government jobs. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the recruitment of 2,536 Group-C posts under the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination 2026 for various Government of India ministries, departments, offices, constitutional bodies, statutory bodies, and tribunals; a notification regarding this has been issued. The 2,536 vacancies announced by the SSC include posts for Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), and Data Entry Operator, Grade 'A'.
**Applications Open Until October 7**
Online applications for these posts began on September 7, and the deadline for submission is October 7. Eligible and interested candidates wishing to apply can complete their registration process on the official SSC website on or before the deadline.
Meanwhile, the deadline for submitting the application fee is 11:00 PM on October 8. Additionally, for candidates who make errors while filling out the application form, a correction window—along with the facility to pay correction fees online—will be available from October 14 until 11:00 PM on October 16.
**Who Can Apply?**
Candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination or an equivalent exam from a recognized board or institution. The age limit for applicants is set between a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 27 years, calculated as of October 1, 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the maximum age limit as per existing rules. Eligible candidates will be selected based on a Computer-Based Examination (Tier-I), a Computer-Based Examination (Tier-II), a Skill Test, and Document Verification (DV); the monthly salary for selected candidates will range from ₹19,900 to ₹92,300, depending on the post. Additionally, candidates will be entitled to other benefits and allowances.
While filling out the application form, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online according to their category; the fee is set at ₹100 for General, OBC, and EWS (male) candidates. Conversely, SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and women are exempted from paying the registration fee.
