Red alert for rain in Delhi, heavy rain warning in 24 states

Monsoon is once again seen intensifying in the country. The rain in Delhi on Friday afternoon brought relief from the humidity. The Meteorological Department has issued a new rain warning. The IMD has issued a red alert for Delhi and has also issued a warning of heavy rains with thunderstorms in 24 states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar tomorrow, September 12. The Meteorological Department has said that wind speed of 85 km per hour may blow during this period.

The Meteorological Department has said that due to the low pressure area formed over northwest and west-central Bay of Bengal and adjacent south Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coast, at different places in Chhattisgarh and Odisha today on 11th; West Madhya Pradesh on 13th and 14th; in Madhya Maharashtra on 13th; 13th and 14th in Gujarat region; And some parts of Saurashtra and Kutch may experience heavy to very heavy rains on 14 September 2026.

A landslide warning has been issued in the hill states. Additionally, thunderstorms are likely over eastern Indian states, and hail warnings have also been issued in several states. Monsoon is becoming active due to cyclonic circulation in Bay of Bengal, which may increase tension in eastern Indian states. Due to this, rain warning has been issued in Uttar Pradesh.
